SO! There I was, sitting in room bored as a button and thought to myself...."Self! it has been WAY too long since you've done ANYTHING with your xanga! And isn't that fabulous story about the JEW concert posted there?" Who knew it had been OVER A YEAR!! What sort of person am I?!? So what have I been doing you may ask? Well here's the run down in no particular order: ~ In May of 06 my oldest sister got married and I still think that that is WEIRD! ~ My first year of graduate school went really well, with having a GPA just under a 4.0 ~ Summer of 06 I worked in the West Green Office working with Sue. Sometimes I think we talked more than we worked :o) I learned a lot about keys, crazy parents, billing, and more billing ~ Also that summer I taught a band camp at Owensboro, KY with an old drum corps friend. Those kiddies are the BEST and I miss them
* The percussion instructor and I were twins
~ AGAIN that summer (it was a popular time) I went to the TBS/KKY FUNction and slept in a tent on the ground for the first time in my life. It was SO MUCH fun! So much in fact that for Christmas I got my very own tent! I was EXSTATIC! ~ I also once again made new pre-game flags for the band, making a new Central Michigan, the Diamond Ohio, and the Bobcat. How do I get myself into these things?
* One of my "babies" at Varsity Night 2007 ~ Fall quarter started again, and once again I was in the band. I sometimes wonder how I was a full time/part time Grad Ass, a full time grad student AND in the Marching 110, but some how I did it and still pulled off excellent grades :o) Needless to say, I'm just a smartie pants. This fall I was the head of uniforms, including rewriting the 110 handbook on uniforms. What a feat that is! Glad I'm done with that! The theme this year was "the season that never ends!" As we had 2 post-season games (MAC Championship in Detriot and GMAC Bowl in Mobile) and then being invited to play for the ISP (sport marketing firm) Homecoming event in August in Winston/Salem North Carolina. It truely was the never ending season!
*The girls and I at the USS Alabama in Mobile, AL ~ Grad Assing this past year was different than the year before. This time I actually had stuff I had to do. I was a supervisor! I know! People like me!? In charge?! Who knew?! I supervised the East Green SAs and loved every minute of it! Except for the drama that occured, that I could have lived without. But I loved working in EGO and the other East Greeners :o)
~ The summer was good. I worked in EGO until July helping with billing and what nots before having to move out of my pimp-status apartment in Jefferson (JEFFIE LOVE!). After I moved out of Jeff, I returned to the home I grew up in, as I continue to look for a full-time position. It's amazing how much stuff you accumulate after living on your own for 7 years....
* Moving out of 290 Jefferson, my pimp-status apartment :o)
~ Once again I was making pre-game flags for the band. The dry-cleaners shrunk TWO of the flags on HOMECOMING (2006) and so I had to replace imaiM and Akron and then make a new one for Temple as they had joined the conference. Again, how does this happen? But it's okay. I make them for Suk, so it's all good :o) Plus it's easy money :o) ~ I wasn't able to return to the 'boro this year because I student taught this summer at an alternative school. Needless to say, I really don't think I want to teach in a classroom setting like that day after day. I'd say it was a bittersweet, more bitter than sweet though, experience. ~ Long story short I was planning on being done with my M.Ed this summer when I finished my student teaching, but alas that did not happen as my paper was not able to be edited. And so graduation was pushed to this quarter, and as I type this, I'm waiting for edits to come back on my latest version of my paper.
* No one knew where the tassle went, so I put it in the center :o) ~ Currently, I'm still living at home. I'm still looking for a full-time position, in education, but not necessarily in a school. But I work in Sugarcreek at a bar/tavern and really enjoy doing it. It's not bad money (I can pay my bills!) and I really like who I work with :o) So that's it in a VERY SMALL nutshell! So welcome me back to Xanga! And I'll work on keeping this up to date! And funny story by the way.... So I had to email xanga to try to get my password, and as it turns out the FABULOUS person who helped me is from OU....AND WE WERE IN THE BAND TOGETHER!! She's FABULOUS! So if you ever need any help with your Xanga site, Natalia is amazing! |
